ಮೊದಲ ದಿನವೇ ಮಳಿಗೆಯು ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಡ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಖರೀದಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರತಿ ವಾರ 150 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಮಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಲೋಬೋ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

As many as 150 families visit the bank every week and 560 families have been benefitted so far. A visitor can buy up to 10 items on a visit.

Back in 2002, 4 classmates from St Aloysius in Mangaluru started a ‘clothes bank’ on the streets for the poor. Students from various schools used to give away their old clothes, which were collected by the 4 of them and distributed for free to the needy.
